7 Days in Morocco: A Jewish Travel Itinerary That Actually Makes Sense
A realistic first Jewish trip to Morocco: Casablanca, Fes and Marrakech in seven days, with Jewish heritage, kosher planning and a link to the full Hamsa Nomads Morocco guide.

Do not try to do all of Morocco in a week
Casablanca, Fes, Marrakech, Essaouira, Tangier, Chefchaouen and the desert all sound close when they are sitting in one Instagram carousel. They are not one easy loop in seven days.
For a first Jewish trip, I would keep the route to three bases: Casablanca, Fes and Marrakech. You get a living Jewish center, major heritage, strong transport connections and enough variety without spending half the week checking in and out.
Days 1–2: Casablanca
Start in Casablanca because it gives you the strongest practical base. Use the first day to settle in, confirm food and community arrangements, and see the city rather than immediately running for a train.
The Museum of Moroccan Judaism is the obvious Jewish-history anchor. From there, the full Hamsa Nomads Morocco guide has the current synagogue, kosher-food and community references to verify before the trip.
Days 3–4: Fes
Fes is where I would slow down. The medina is huge and the Jewish history is easier to understand with context, not by rushing through a list of pins. Build one day around the old city and Mellah, then leave the second day for the parts you missed or a carefully planned Meknes extension.
The Moroccan National Tourist Office describes Fes as an imperial city centered on its historic medina. For Jewish sites specifically, verify access with current local contacts because opening arrangements can change.
Days 5–7: Marrakech
Marrakech is the easiest place to end because it has enough Jewish infrastructure and enough general travel options that the final days do not feel like a logistics exercise. Chabad Marrakech provides current visitor-facing information, and the city works well as a base rather than another one-night stop.
If you really want Essaouira, I would trade a full city for it rather than add it on top. A seven-day trip gets much better when you stop treating every city as mandatory.
Where Shabbos changes the route
If Shabbos falls inside the trip, build the entire itinerary around the place where you want to spend it. Confirm lodging, walking distance, meals and minyan before buying the train ticket for the next leg.
The Hamsa Nomads Morocco guide exists for exactly this layer. Use this article for the route idea; use the guide for the live Jewish logistics and source links.
