There's a mystery on the island
Governors Island holds more than historic buildings and skyline views. On Sunday, your team will step into an unfolding story, search for clues hidden in plain sight, piece together discoveries and work toward a final reveal. Every team follows the same mystery, but each brings its own ideas.
It's an adventure shared with new people, with time to relax and connect when the story ends. Come solo or bring a friend; we'll match everyone into small teams.
How the adventure works
You'll explore the island together as each discovery opens the next chapter. The clues and story are delivered on your phone, where your team can submit answers to move forward. It's about solving the mystery together, not racing for the fastest time.
Sunday schedule
- 12:45–1:00 PM: meet your team at Liggett Terrace and begin the story.
- 1:00–2:15 PM: follow the mystery and solve six clues around the island.
- 2:15–3:30 PM: final reveal, snacks and an outdoor social together.
Getting to the island
Take the Governors Island ferry from Manhattan's Battery Maritime Building or Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 6. Participants travel independently; there is no need for everyone to ride the same ferry. Aim to arrive on the island with enough time to reach Liggett Terrace before 12:45 PM. Check the official ferry schedule before traveling.
What to bring
A charged phone for the clues, comfortable shoes and a light layer. We’ll bring the snacks.

Yes. We'll help solo attendees and friends form welcoming teams.
How do we get the clues?
Your team will follow each chapter on your phone, solving clues on the island and submitting answers to unlock the next part of the story. We'll share access instructions with participants.
Do I need to take the Brooklyn ferry?
No. Choose the Manhattan or Brooklyn ferry and meet us at Liggett Terrace by 12:45 PM.
